Until now, social photo-sharing service Instagram’s highest profile musician was Snoop Dogg. Now the rapper has been eclipsed after Justin Bieber signed up for the service, and tweeted out his first Instagram picture. Co-founder Kevin Systrom tells TechCrunch that Bieber was picking up 50 Instagram followers a minute in the hours after joining, with one comment every 10 seconds – unprecedented numbers for Instagram, which has seven million users. Systrom says Bieber just discovered the app and decided to use it, rather than this being any kind of endorsement deal. The news follows the use of Instagram in digital marketing campaigns by Moby and The Vaccines. Source: TechCrunch – Like what you’ve read here? This is just a snippet from our subscription service.
