A fortnight ago, a company called Personal Audio won $8 million from Apple in a patent infringement case relating to the way certain iPod models used playlists. Now it’s coming back for another go, with a lawsuit focused on more recent devices including the latest iPod nano, iPod shuffle, iPod touch, iPhone 4 and iPad 2 devices. At issue is the same patent from the previous case, despite Apple protesting that the $8 million settlement applied to all of its products that used the technology concerned. Personal Audio’s original lawsuit was filed in 2009, before any of the new products had been announced or released.
