Music licensing firm Rumblefish says that four million songs have been licensed from its catalogue to be used in YouTube videos, slideshows, presentations and games. The milestone comes as Rumblefish’s catalogue expands to more than 400,000 songs, and as it launches its API for developers to tap into that catalogue. Social movies app HighlightCam, fitness startup Journey Gym and online video editing service Clipik are the first three to take advantage of the new API, allowing their users to license tracks as ‘social soundtracks’.
