British music industry body UK Music has announced that it will launch an Equality & Diversity Charter this autumn, which will identify areas where the industry needs to improve. UK Music members will be working with the Alliance for Diversity in Music & Media (ADMM) in the coming weeks to sign up companies for the charter. “Music has inherent power to bring people together. Whatever our background, we all love it, we all consume it, we all play it; and, importantly, no sector of society has a claim over it,” says UK Music boss Feargal Sharkey. “I passionately believe that such a natural meritocracy should continue into the workplace.” Source: UK Music
