Newly-installed Vevo UK managing director Jonathan Lewis has been talking about where the service sits in the wider scheme of things, and has hinted that music videos are just the start of its ambitions. “We are very much pitching Vevo as a mass digital entertainment platform. It is music focused, but the key thing is we are positioning ourselves in the same space as the other big digital entertainment businesses out there that offer premium on-demand catch up – such as 4OD and ITV.com,” he tells Music Week. Lewis says that Vevo is also planning to make a big push into live content in 2012 in the UK, through partnerships with festivals and Vevo-branded events. Source: Music Week
