Verified profiles are now commonplace on Twitter for artists, celebrities and other corporate accounts, to show that the account really does belong to that person or company. Now social music startup Turntable.fm is using the same idea for its avatar-based service. Talib Kweli has become the first artist to get a verified account and his own avatar for Turntable.fm, having visited the company’s office. We’re awaiting confirmation of the news that Lady Gaga and Kanye West are among the investors in the company’s first round of funding, too. Source: Mashable
