Streaming music firm Grooveshark has launched a new version of its service for the Boxee set-top box. “It’s all the things you love about Grooveshark: you can search and play music, get your cloud libraries and playlists, and favorite the songs that you love. And any changes you make to your library will automatically sync between Grooveshark on the web, your phone, and now your TV,” explains Grooveshark in a blog post. It’s just the latest example of a streaming music service setting its sights on connected TVs, with Boxee having picked up a loyal audience in the US for its set-top box. Grooveshark remains a controversial company for many rightsholders due to its user uploads and lack of licences, so it will be interesting to see if Boxee now faces pressure from labels and publishers for carrying the service.
