Facebook is expected to launch comprehensive new music features in September, but for now, an extension for the Chrome web browser is doing some of the job. It’s called +Music, and its basic feature allows users to quickly search for artists to find music streams and social profiles, including the ability to highlight and right-click an artist’s name on any website to bring up that content. However, the Facebook angle is what’s got TechCrunch excited: +Music lets anyone share full streams of artists with their friends on the social network, via a pop-up player activated when the friend clicks on a +Music update in their news stream. The extension taps into The Echo Nest APIs to do its work. Source: TechCrunch
