Connected hi-fi firm Sonos says its devices are now present in more than one million ‘rooms’ around the world – the terminology refers to the company’s business model of selling main systems and also additional wireless speakers for multi-room setups. “Today’s milestone demonstrates loud and clear that music fans want a new way to listen to music in their homes,” says CEO John McFarlane. “We’re thrilled to be able to provide this music experience to so many people around the globe and we will continue to pursue our mission of filling every home with music.” Sonos has recently moved into the massmarket with its Play:3 device, which is thought to be selling strongly.
