Stop us if you’ve heard this one before. An Apple employee has reportedly lost a prototype iPhone in a bar, leaving the company scrambling to recover it. Yes, this happened in 2010 with an early model of the iPhone 4, which was famously subsequently shown to tech blog Gizmodo, sparking police raids. Now it appears to have happened again, according to CNET,which says a new prototype was left in a Mexican bar in San Francisco in late July. The report claims that Apple traced the device to a house in the city, but that the resident denied all knowledge, and even refused an offer of “money for the phone no questions asked”. The device is thought to have since been sold for $200 on Craigslist. Our favourite part of the story is the quote from the owner of the bar, though: “I guess I have to make my drinks a little less strong…”
