Australian anti-piracy group Music Industry Piracy Investigations (MIPI) has appointed Vanessa Hutley as its new general manager. She joins from Microsoft Australia, where she was senior corporate attorney and director of intellectual property. She joins as MIPI’s emphasis shifts. “With the emphasis in anti-piracy activity shifting to policy development and industry agreement in the on-line area, Vanessa is perfectly placed to make a major contribution in her new role,” says collecting society AMCOS’ CEO Brett Cottle. Hutley is replacing Sabine Heindl, who has been MIPI’s general manager for the last five years. Source: Billboard
