UK band Marillion have traditionally been one of the more forward-thinking artists when it comes to digital and connecting with fans. Their latest effort is a collaboration with pierlane for a Songpier apps campaign, tying into their upcoming German tour. The mobile web apps will be used to guide fans through a competition using hidden messages. And yes, that’s apps: there will be several, starting with one called Fantastic Place, and following up with a messaging app for the tour. “We have been very impressed with our trial so far with Songpier and look forward with working with them over the coming year,” says Marillion’s communication manager Lucy Jordache.
