Recently, CELAS’ VP of business affairs Eric Mackay left his job, but he hadn’t announced where he was going until today. In an email to industry contacts, Mackay has just confirmed that he has joined Vevo as the company’s director of business development and business affairs, with a focus on the company’s European rollout. “I have been tasked with ensuring that the rights are licensed fully in all territories before launch and that we’re working with the most relevant syndication partners in each territory,” he explains. At CELAS, Mackay’s role involved representing EMI Music Publishing’s online and mobile exploitation rights across Europe, including licensing the likes of iTunes, Spotify, Myspace, Amazon, Google, eMusic and we7. We’d say that’s a pretty good hire for Vevo as it looks to expand beyond the UK in Europe. Source: Email
