Mobile developer Rovio says that its Angry Birds franchise has now passed the 350 million downloads mark across all platforms, with mobile users playing the game for more than 300 million minutes a day collectively. That’s according to Rovio’s general manager Andrew Stalbow, talking at a conference in the US, where he also talked up the company’s partnerships with film studios like 20th Century Fox. “People in Hollywood are really surprised with the quick acceleration in the way consumers engage with entertainment on their mobile phones,” said Stalbow. Some more eye-watering Angry Birds stats: Rovio is currently selling one million plush toys every month based on the games, and another million t-shirts. This isn’t just a mobile game phenomenon any more, it’s a merchandising juggernaut. Source: VentureBeat Source: TechCrunch
