Ready for some big numbers? Metadata firm Gracenote says its Global Media Database has now been queried more than 200 billion times, and has 250 million users in more than 200 countries across more than 2,000 applications. The database is currently averaging 4.5 billion queries a month for CD and DVD recognition, music waveform recognition, music and video search and music recommendations. Oh, and it received its one billionth submission this month – an album by US band Swans.
