We wrote about Universal Music Group’s Digster service a few weeks ago (Bulletin, 28-Jul-11): it offers curated playlists for streaming music services from its own editors and guest artists. Now it has an app to take the idea mobile. The Digster iPhone app is free to download – it went live last night – and offers playlists to be accessed through Spotify, WiMP and TDC Play, depending which country the user is located in. The playlists can also be bought in Apple’s iTunes Store. “Whether you are looking for a soundtrack to the party of the century or background music for a romantic night in, Digster can help you find the perfect playlist,” promises the blurb.
