UK singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran continues to do some interesting stuff in digital. His latest move is to give away a free digital EP to his mailing list, Facebook fans and Twitter followers. ‘Thank You’ included two demos and a remix, and was only available for 24 hours between 7pm on Sunday and 7pm on Monday, to celebrate his album ‘+’ topping the UK chart. Atlantic Records tracked the downloads saying that the EP was downloaded 90,000 times over the 24 hours, split evenly between the links posted on the mailing list, Facebook page and Twitter. Sheeran currently has around 395k Facebook fans and 356k Twitter followers. Source: Atlantic Records
