Bjork has become the first person to participate in eMusic’s Artist Takeover initiative in the UK, becoming an honorary contributing editor to the site this week as her album Biophilia is released. That means the albums that influenced Bjork will be reviewed on eMusic UK throughout the week, alongside a Q&A with Bjork herself, and an interview with one of her favourite artists Omar Souleyman. “She pushes the boundaries in merging the latest technology with sounds that span multiple genres, and now eMusic members can get a real insight into what inspires and influences her,” says eMusic Europe’s MD Madeleine Milne. Artist takeovers are increasingly common as labels look for new ways to promote their artists within streaming and subscription music services. Source: eMusic
