What’s coming next for digital music? Marketing agency J Walter Thompson has published its Things to Watch: Music Edition presentation, which outlines the trends it thinks will be key over the next decade. “It’s all about the ability to listen to your own archives and just about anything else wherever you are,” notes the introduction. “We’re becoming our own music hub, limited by neither physical nor digital storage space nor tethered to any particular hardware…” The trends are a mixture of the familiar – Access Over Ownership, App Albums – and more esoteric fare (Flowing, Tracking and Pounding, anyone?). An interesting take on what’s happening in the market, anyway. Source: Hypebot
