A GEnScandinavian artist Oh Land has clearly been watching UK act A Genuine Freakshow: she’s planning a similar trick to their QR code giveaway at the Reading and Leeds festivals earlier this year. Oh Land is supporting Katy Perry on her UK and Ireland tour, and will be distributing cards with a QR code on directing interested fans to her new Songpier mobile web app, which offers more information and music streams. We know that A Genuine Freakshow’s manager Erik Nielsen was chuffed with the results of his band’s campaign, so it’ll be interesting to see if the tactic works as well in an arena support slot, as opposed to a festival crowd.
