It’s strange to think that Pandora has never had a chief marketing officer (CMO), right through to its recent IPO. Now it’s got one though: Simon Fleming-Wood, formerly VP of marketing at Cisco’s consumer products group, and before that at Pure Digital, which made the Flip video camera. “Pandora has built a large and passionate following based entirely on the quality of its service and people,” says Fleming-Wood in a statement on Billboard. “Very few brands are invited into so many people’s lives in such a personal way, every day.” Pandora is facing sterner competition than ever though, particularly from Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio service.
