comScore has released its latest stats estimating unique visitors for digital music services in the US. They include a sharp spike for Spotify, up from 1.34 million visitors in August to 2.44 million in September. Billboard thinks the company’s partnership with Facebook is a key factor, even though that only kicked in on 22 September after being announced at the f8 conference. comScore also claims Spotify’s US users are skewed young and male, while over-indexing for household income. Spotify remains behind some of its rivals for unique visitors, though: comScore claims iTunes attracted 19.6 million uniques in September, followed by Pandora’s 19 million.
