People in Silicon Valley rave about the Internet Trends presentations give by Mary Meeker – formerly an analyst, but now a partner at VC firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Her latest slide deck was presented at the Web 2.0 Summit yesterday, and is already online for perusal. It digs into 11 current internet trends: globality, mobile, user interface, commerce, advertising, content creation, technology / mobile leadership, ‘Mega-Trend of 21st Century’, authentic identity, economy, and USA Inc. There’s some very good stuff in the 66-slide presentation too, including China’s explosive growth in internet access; rapid iPad and Android adoption; and even a plug for SoundCloud CEO Alexander Ljungs; belief that “sound is going to be bigger than video… ‘Record’ is the new QWERTY.” Source: TechCrunch
