UK radio station Absolute 80s has worked with Bounce Mobile to create the Absolute 80s Remixer app for iPhone, promising “a new way to remix 80s music” on the device. The app is based on Bounce’s Fireplayer platform, and includes tracks to remix by artists liek ABC, Go West, Howard Jones, Soft Cell, Dead or Alive, Wang Chung, M and a specially re-recorded version of ’19’ by Paul Hardcastle. The app is free to download and includes free tracks from Go West and ABC, with other songs costing £1.99. What’ll be interesting is to see how Absolute Radio promotes the app to its listeners. Remix apps have often had trouble cutting through the App Store clutter, so Bounce’s partnership with a big radio company could bear fruit.
