Want Rihanna to appear in your office? All you have to do is buy a tub of Nivea Creme and hold it up to your webcam. The singer is part of an augmented reality campaign from the cosmetics brand, produced with Blast Radius. It involves a virtual Rihanna jumping out of the tub to sing her song California King Bed. We’ve seen webcam-based augmented reality used by artists before – Mastodon being the most recent – but this is an example of an artist appearing in an AR campaign for a brand, which at least means Nivea will be bearing the costs rather than Rihanna’s label.
