British personal radio service we7 has hired its first marketing boss. Mark McCulloch is the company’s new VP of marketing, joining from restaurant chain Yo! Sushi. He’ll be overseeing marketing and PR activity across the UK, Ireland and Belgium, with other countries to come as we7 expands. “I’ve picked the perfect time to join we7 as the vision, product and positioning perfectly match the way everyone will consume music in the near future,” he says in a statement. In separate news, we7 is working with Polydor on a digital marketing campaign for girl-band The Saturdays. Each band member is getting their own radio station on we7 with their chosen tracks, and video clips of them talking about their choices. The campaign will add new songs leading up to the release of the new single and album from the band. “The addition of exclusive content week on week as the campaign runs encourages more interaction with, and returns to, the radio steams so building brand loyalty,” says SVP of European advertising sales Dominic Barker.
