Social photos startup Hipstamatic is one of several apps helping people to apply visual filters to their photographs before sharing them with the world – Instagram and Picplz are other examples. Now the company has a music partnership to talk about, with Miranda Lambert. It has released a Nashville ‘HipstaPak’ inspired by Lambert’s new album Four The Record and rock photographer James Minchin III. It promises a Rock BW film effect that’s a “rough around the edges black and white doozy”, as well as a James M lens that offers “a charcoal contrast mellowed like the finest whiskies”. What’s more, Hipstamatic is also running a Rock Photographer contest encouraging its users to try the new effects out, with a winner to be flown to a Lambert concert to take photos using the app.
