Sting is the latest music artist to get his own iPad app – in this case developed by Radical Media to celebrate his 25th year of music making. The app is free, thanks to being “generously supported by Chevrolet, with access provided by American Express”. The app promises photos, handwritten lyrics and journal entries, 360-degree views of Sting’s ‘signature instruments’, interviews and gig footage from throughout Sting’s career, including his 60th birthday concert in New York.
The app works with Apple’s AirPlay technology to stream video to a bigger TV, while still letting the user browse extra content on their iPad. Oh, and if they already have Sting’s albums on their iPad, they can play from within the app, while everyone else gets 30-second previews and iTunes Store links. The hefty 444.4MB download should have plenty of material to satisfy Sting buffs.
