Two big artists have new iOS apps this morning on Apple’s App Store: Jimi Hendrix and AC/DC.

Jimi Hendrix: The Complete Experience is available for iPhone and iPad, and acts as a guide to his career with text, photos and videos, as well as an interactive map showing key places in his life.

Owned songs can be played within the app, while those not owned can be sampled and bought from the iTunes Store. Universal Mind developed the app for Sony Music and Experience Hendrix. They may wish to correct the ‘Foxey Lady’ typo in the app description, mind.

The second app is AC/DC Pinball Rocks HD, also for iPhone and iPad. It’s a pinball game with a soundtrack from the rock band. “Ring Hell’s bells, fire a cannonball salute, flick the switch to power up the power station, and take a ride with Rosie…” Singer Brian Johnson provides additional voiceovers.

It’s also a Sony Music app, and follows the previous release of Slayer Pinball Rocks HD. AC/DC, of course, don’t have any albums available to buy on the iTunes Store itself – this marks the band’s debut in Apple’s digital ecosystem.
