The Music Hack Day at this year’s Midem conference was a big success, so we’re pleased to report that it’s happening again in January. 30 developers will be invited to attend the event, with 48 hours to monkey about with various APIs and data-sets, in order to come up with innovative music apps and sites. The event will take place between 28 and 30 January in Cannes alongside Midem. There is also a call for artists, labels, managers and technology companies to get involved, producing a wish-list of the hacks they’d like to see created at the event.

“Over the past two years, Music Hack Day has created an open sandbox and playground for developers to prototype and build new music apps using an array of new platforms, APIs and technology,” says co-organiser Dave Haynes from SoundCloud. “Now, midem hack day provides the perfect bridge between these events and the wider international music industry.”
