Streaming music services aren’t just competitors for traditional radio stations: they can also be partners. That’s the implication of a new deal between Deezer UK and Jazz FM, which will see a Jazz FM radio channel added to the service. The station’s presenters will be curating a stream of music for listeners on Deezer, which will also be highlighting Jazz FM’s album of the week. “We believe that we can produce the best experience in jazz listening and are delighted to be partnering with Deezer because their user experience is second to none, its a perfect match for Jazz FM,” says Jazz FM managing director Yoel Kenan. The partnership also bolsters Deezer’s credentials for jazz buffs – a genre that has arguably been under-served when it comes to recommendations and editorial support on mainstream streaming services in the past.
