Dance label Defected Records is the latest company to sign up for anti-piracy platform AudioLock. The company will be using its watermarked promo delivery and management tools, with AudioLock also handling scanning and DMCA takedown requests for web links to infringing content on the label’s behalf. The news comes as AudioLock announced version 2.0 of its platform, which originally launched in beta back in 2010. New features include the ability for labels to add their own branding and attach artwork and press releases to their watermarked promo files, while also getting more detailed analytics on who has opened, downloaded and streamed the music. Download links are also now locked to recipient’s IP addresses, so they can’t be forwarded on.
