Another new platform launching for digital music marketing focuses on the editorial side of things. StoryAmp wants to help independent artists get their music into the hands of relevant journalists, with the latter able to sign up to receive a daily email including “short pitches” for new releases and events. Artists can sign up for free, or pay $10 a month for a premium account – which gets them onto the daily emails. All artists get their music added to a ‘discovery stream’ on the site, seen by writers when they log in. There’s also a streaming radio channel for premium artists. Hypebot reports that StoryAmp will provide analytics for artists based on how many people saw their releases, and whether they were bookmarked.
