Aspiro has announced that Fredrik Nystrom is taking a role as its general manager for the WiMP subscription music service in Sweden. He joins from Scandinavian entertainment company PlusFourSix, which he co-founded, and was also involved in the launch of digital distributor X5 Music, which has had several digital hits in the US. “Fredrik Nystrom is a person we have long known through the industry and who is considered talented and respected both in Sweden and internationally,” says Aspiro boss Gunnar Sellæg. Former WiMP Sweden head Fredrik Zmuda becomes managing editor, focusing on the music side of WiMP there while Nystrom concentrates on commercial relationships.
