Acer is the latest consumer electronics firm to show off its own cloud service. This one’s called, logically enough, AcerCloud, and was unveiled at the CES show in Las Vegas. Due to launch in the second quarter of this year bundled with Acer’s PCs, it promises to store media libraries, photos and documents in the cloud and make them accessible across “personal smart devices”. The catch? Only Android smartphones and tablets will be supported at launch, although Windows will follow – no news on whether there’ll be iOS apps for that, but it would be a strange decision if not.
