Sony Music Entertainment has announced that Dennis Kooker is its new president of global digital business and US sales. He’ll report directly to chairman and CEO Doug Morris, and steps up from his previous role as EVP of operations and general manager of Sony’s global digital business and US sales. Before that, he worked in Sony BMG’s comparable business unit. “Dennis has long been a key contributor to our successful Global Digital Business and US Sales operations, and we are excited to have him leading our efforts to further grow and diversify our physical and digital businesses,” says Morris in a statement. Kooker replaces Thomas Hesse, who confirmed his departure from Sony Music in December (Bulletin, 1-Dec-11) to rejoin Bertelsmann.
