Earlier this week, we reported on US mobile operator Cricket Communications’ success with its Muve Music service, which now has more than 500,000 customers (Bulletin, 9-Jan-12). Now Cricket is thinking of taking the service overseas. “We have certainly thought about taking the Muve Music blueprint and success formula and technology platform, which we think is a very special technology asset, with licensing it for use with other operators,” Cricket’s SVP of Muve Music Jeff Toig tells Fierce Mobile Content. “It is something that we have explored and are open to discussing.” He also suggests that expanding Muve Music beyond feature phones and Android to other platforms like BlackBerry and Windows Phone is on the company’s agenda, but only as “some of those other products gain more commercial appeal”.
