Sony says it now has more than 1m active users of its Music Unlimited cloud service. Sony Network Entertainment boss Tim Schaaff revealed the stat at a press event in Las Vegas for the CES show, as reported by VentureBeat. He also confirmed that Sony is working on an iOS app for Music Unlimited, following its mobile debut on Android last year. The iOS app will include music-cacheing features so that people can listen to songs offline, matching apps from rivals like Spotify. Sony has also just launched Music Unlimited in four new European countries – Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland – with plans for more global launches in the year ahead. Earlier this week, we reported on Sony’s promise to put 300m connected devices in consumers’ hands in the next three years – a huge potential base of subscribers for Music Unlimited.
