There has been a lot of speculation about the success (or otherwise) of Microsoft’s Windows Phone OS, as the company looks to compete with Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android. Low sales figures have made it a slow start, but Morgan Stanley’s analysts think Windows Phone is set to take off in 2012. The company has predicted that Nokia alone will ship 37m Windows Phones in 2012, rising to 64m in 2013. Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley thinks HTC will ship 6m and 10m more Windows Phones in those two years too, although it doesn’t predict shipments for other manufacturers like Samsung to give an overall figure.
