On Monday, we reported on Shazam’s new Shazam Player iPhone app, which plays people’s own songs while pulling in lyrics, videos and reviews. It turned out we’d gone a bit early on the story: the app had gone live on the App Store – we spotted it on our RSS feeds – before being taken down again. The official launch was yesterday, so it’s now available. As we noted on Monday, the app includes features already seen in the main Shazam app like LyricPlay for streaming lyrics, as well as charts of popular tracks. It doesn’t do identification, but will launch the separate Shazam app for that. For now it’s iPhone only, but we’re assuming Android will be next in line to get it.
