British singer songwriter Katy Carr is using a nice social media tactic to promote her ‘Kazik and the Kommander’s Car’ music and film project. The project involves a film of Katy’s meeting with Polish boy scout, Kazimierz ‘Kazik’ Piechowski who escaped from Auschwitz 70 years ago. Katy wrote the song ‘Kommander’s Car’ inspired by Kazik’s story; which then led onto a film about Kazik and his escape in a stolen SS commandant’s car.

The film has been uploaded in its entirety to a password protected page on Vimeo with random Twitter followers and Facebook fans picked at random and given the passcode to watch. It’s a nice example of social media sharing and the personal touch of an invitation to view the short independant documentary film at a ‘private online screening’.
