Earlier this week, we wondered how Deezer’s global rollout was going, when reporting on its deal with GEMA in Germany (Bulletin, 31-Jan-11). In early December, Deezer had outlined plans to be live in 45 European countries by 31 December, and then Canada plus 37 Latin American countries by 31 January. How’s that going then? We asked, and Deezer’s UK PR agency told us the latest figures. The streaming service is live in 34 countries in Europe so far, and by the end of this week should be live in six Latin American countries. The South American rollout is going slower than expected, then. As a reminder, Deezer is also targeting launches in 41 Australasian and African countries by 28 February.
