Startup Walking Heads has launched a music-focused audio walking-tour app for iPhone and Android. The app covers Glasgow, encouraging people to wander around the city hearing about the last 100 years of its musical heritage. Scottish DJ Jim Gellatly provides the voice narration, and the app includes interviews with musicians including Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite and Hue & Cry’s Greg Kane. “The Walking Heads Music Tour isn’t just for tourists. I think locals may be surprised to learn just how much musical history they have around them,” notes Gellatly. Venues covered include The Arches, The Barrowland and King Tut’s, among others.
