It seems Fab Macca isn’t so thumbs aloft when it comes to streaming music services. Digital Music News reports that a number of McCartney’s solo albums, as well as those of Wings, are being pulled from streaming services in the US. It cites a leaked takedown request issued by Universal Music Group Distribution on behalf of Concord Records and Hear Music. The takedown timing is interesting, coming as McCartney announced plans for a livestream gig to be broadcast through Apple’s iTunes software. It’s to promote his new covers album Kisses On The Bottom, with the press release promising the gig will be “the first time ever that the reverent and adventurous performances of Kisses On The Bottom will be brought to life in a live setting”. It seems the album won’t be available in a streaming setting for some time though…
