European ticketing firm Seatwave has unveiled its API, which lets developers integrate its service into their apps and take 35% of net revenues as affiliate commissions. In fact, there are two APIs: one for Discovery – where app users will be able to browse Seatwave’s database of tickets – and one for Purchase, which is more about selling tickets within an app. Seatwave is also working with The Echo Nest, integrating its APIs into the latter’s Rosetta Stone platform. The announcement came yesterday, but the APIs’ coming out party will be this weekend at Music Hack Day San Francisco. “We believe that the future of e-commerce is a fully distributed experience and sharing our ticketing information across the web is a natural step for us towards this future while being good for businesses and good for consumers,” says Seatwave CEO Joe Cohen. The news comes after Seatwave launched an SDK for iOS app developers last year (Bulletin, 14-Dec-11)
