Beyonce is the latest artist looking for fans to remix her work. In this case, the work is ‘End of Time’, a single from her last album. Fans in 25 countries are being invited to download stems of the song from Beyonce’s official website, remix them into something interesting, and then upload the finished mixes to SoundCloud. When the contest ends on 9 March, SoundCloud users get to vote for their favourites, with the 50 top-ranked ‘eligible’ remixes then reviewed by judges including DJs, producers and Beyonce herself. The winner gets $4k and “the opportunity to have his/her remix appear on an upcoming Beyoncé release”.
