Globetrotting DJ Tiësto has launched his official iPhone app, which costs £0.69 on Apple’s App Store.

The app offers music, news, tour dates and social features to connect with other fans, and there’s the promise of an exclusive unreleased streaming track to persuade them to stump up the price.

What’s more, a subscription scheme is also built into the app, based on Tiësto’s InTheBooth community. Fans who pay the £3.99 charge via in-app purchase will be able to create personal playlists, stream his Club Life Podcast archive, and get other exclusive tracks and videos.

It’s one of relatively few examples of artist apps using in-app purchases for subscriptions, so it’ll be fascinating to see whether Tiësto’s fans sign up in good numbers.
