XL Recordings launched an official iPhone app for Adele back in September 2011 (Bulletin, 9-Sep-11). It’s been one of the only artist apps to make any sort of impact on the App Store charts, reflecting Adele’s popularity with the record-buying (app-downloading) public. Anyway, the app has now been ported to Android smartphones, appearing on the Android Market store last Friday. As on iPhone, the content is a mixture of news, trck previews, videos and social features. Fans can also browse tour dates, buy tickets and check in to venues using Foursquare or Facebook. XL built both apps on top of Mobile Roadie’s platform. Fresh from winning six awards at the Grammys yesterday, we sense Adele’s app will be a hit with Android owners.
