Finnish startup Rovio Mobile has big plans for the next instalment of its Angry Birds game franchise. The company has announced that Angry Birds Space will launch on 22 March across “mobile gaming, animation, retail, and publishing”. For now, the company is only giving teasers on what this will mean, although it includes zero-gravity physics in the game, and brand partnerships with NASA and National Geographic. No music angle yet, despite those recent rumours of a Kiss partnership. Even so, as perhaps the most buzzy entertainment property in the world right now, there will be intense interest in “One small fling for a bird, one quantum leap for birdkind”.
