Apple has done most things right in recent years, but one area it continues to field complaints about is the design of its iTunes Store. Now it seems the company is responding. 9 to 5 Mac reports that Apple is redesigning its desktop-based store – including the App Store – to be “even simpler and more user-friendly than the current design”. That will include more of a focus on discovery features. There is little detail on the timescale for the planned relaunch, although the piece suggests that it may make its debut in the summer alongside Apple’s new ‘Mountain Lion’ update for its Mac OS X operating system. That said, the company may wait until Autumn, when it’s tipped to unveil its next iPhone and iPod touch devices.
